I would really like some experience behind the answer, i was just wondering what was different, which dance is more challenging, and your opinion on the dance.
thanks a ton

jazz is usually more upbeat and fun like theatrical
same techniques apply to contemporary
but in contemporary its usually more to a slower song and your supposed to tell a story theres more to the coreography usually
i think contemporary is more challenging simply because i find it hard to tell a story with my face and body where in jazz you can just smile big and do everything full out with lots of facials.
thats just my opinion though
contemporary- it’s much more slow, with more emotions. usually the dance choreography tells a story.
jazz- it’s more upbeat, and has more ’sharp’ movements. Usually, you just need a huge smile on your face for emotions.
Both dances have jumps and turns.
I find that contemporary is more difficult than jazz because it requires more thinking, like what you need to do with your body, hands, fingers, feet, legs, and face. Jazz is a far better choice for beginners.
I love contemporary better however, because it tells a story and it’s more fun to convey emotions.
