If you’re taking dance for fun, then do whatever classes you want. But if you’re trying to pursue a serious study of dance, then you might be better off starting with a concentrated focus on ballet for a year. Ballet lays down the basic dance “rules,” while jazz breaks those rules with isolations, parallel feet, etc. So it can be hard to keep the two styles separated in your mind as well as your “muscle memory” if you’re learning them from scratch at the same time.
Hip hop, as you can imagine, is the polar opposite of ballet. While many ballet dancers can do jazz and vice versa, you will see far fewer advanced ballet dancers who can do hip hop – convincingly – and vice versa.
do you want to be a dancer?
i doo.. and trust me ballet is something i should of started with.
if your doing it for fun do whatever.
but if your serious. whats going to help you advance. sure do hiphop bu also take ballet if your serisou
you dont have to take any specific classes but ballet is the fundemental for everthing so you should take that jazz and hip hop are really fun though so you should take one
ive heard ballet gives you a basis and tecnique for most other types of dance. alot of dance studios don’t allow you to take other forms of dance without some basics.
You don’t *have* to start with any particular style of dancing. Ballet is considered one of the building blocks because of the emphasis on technique. It will help you with any other styles you choose to learn.
Most dancers I know started with tap and ballet. Tap for rhythm and ballet for technique. It certainly isn’t a requirement though!
no you start out with what you want to.
ballet helps every thingg
ballet certainly does help…you balance everything and your general knowledge of steps and positions but no its not necessary
