On windows if you have a sd card plugged in with music files on there, you can play the files without having them saved on the hard drive of the computer. Also, I don’t see an option for saving downloads and files directly to the sd card instead of the hard drive.
Does the macbook (new white edition) have these features?
In Safari (THAT’S where you download!) go to Safari > Preferences > General. Change the “Save downloaded files to”.
In iTunes (that’s where you play music), go to iTunes > Preferences > Advanced. At “iTunes Media folder location”, click “Change”.
After you get all smiley and content with using the SD card for this, you will begin to hate it. How much music can you put on an SD card? Very limiting. Plus, you can NEVER take it out. Both Safari and iTunes will default to the desktop and your home Music folder if the disk is pulled.
