Any tips on how to write a good opener. Something catchy. I tried and could not think of anything. Also, I like death, black and thrash metal so any would be good.

Pull together your own style from all your favorite influences. Don’t copy. Keep trying until you get something unique and something you’re proud of.
As a fellow death metal guitar player, I usually listen to a death metal song and write a song similar to it. But I add my own originality and mix up the riff so I can make it my own song. Play a couple chords then some heavy PM’s and mix it up to get a riff you like. Hope this helps. STAY BRUTAL
