I’m 15 right now, about 16 and I love to make music. I play piano and I sing but I don’t really know how well I can sing yet because not many people have heard me. I’m planning on doing a lot in music and I’d like to become a recording artist but I don’t know how or when I need to try and get into the music business. If you can help me it’d be a big help.
You will need education – lots and lots an lots. The old fantasy about *being discovered* is just that – a fantasy. People who ARE stars now have publicists to massage their backstory – to make it sound like this person was SO incredible that recording companies just THREW themselves at this person. Yeah, right.
So – you need to be studying ALREADY with the best teacher you can find – someone with degrees in music, and perhaps a certified teacher – not the stoner at your local music store. Then you get into the BEST university, college, or conservatory program you can. There are MANY that offer degrees in popular music now, recording industry, etc. DO some research NOW, and see what their admission and audition requirements are. They will be stiff – they want to weed out the REALLY talented, educated, and hard-working from the wannabees. Scholarships in popular music are almost non-existent – again, FAR FAR FAR too many people applying for those slots.
I wish you luck – SOMEBODY has to succeed – but the chances of it being ANYONE are very very very slim.

See? I told you that *somebody* would talk about *being discovered*. Doesn’t happen that way.
wow im in the same position cool
anyway im doing music gcse to get better at singing and playing the piano and guitar and was thinking of maybe going to a music college or something like that cause most people are discovered at that time.
I’m not exactly confident with my singing too but i think if you want to be recognised you should show off but in a good way lol
hope i helped
show people what you can do. play music at a family party, play for your friends. express yourself!!
