What seems thin to one person may be perfect for someone else. Just try different strings til you find the tone you want. It's an old cliche, but you do get what you pay for. edit; Higher quality strings will sound better on your guitar, but they will probably play about the same. If you bought your guitar on line, take it in to a qualified luthier for a "set up" and that may improve the playability of your guitar.
