I want to move away from playing blues all the time, and I need some new inspiration. I’m starting to get more into playing avant garde classical music more than anything – but I like to mix genres together also. Mostly I solo alone. I’m trying to compose long, interesting harmonica solos that stay interesting the entire duration of the solo.
Can you recommend any albums for me?
Right now, I really like Dizzy Gillespie’s “Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac”. Can anybody recommend some similar albums? I also like the modernness of Miles’ “Bitches Brew” but the songs are very long and hard for me to follow and keep interested.
Hi! I’ve been looking on the Internet for the last 15 minutes and cannot find a site listing the best selling classical albums. Do you know of a reliable site? Thank you
I’m just starting to get into jazz, but its a little overwhelming and I’m wondering where a good place to start is. I really like Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald at the moment. I would like album names because I’d like a lot of music, but the best songs would be good too.
So recently I was introduced really for the first time to classical music when I was given a best of Mozart CD which I think is spectacular, however I am interested in other classical music. Are there best of’s for all the greats like Beethoven, Bach, and Handel? if there is I would love to know what the name of them are!
So, if you had to pick a couple albums to play someone who didn’t listen to jazz or blues, to make them start, what would they be? I’m trying to expand my music library to some other genres.
