This is a confusing question to ask. Eventually a musician doesn’t rely on scales for his/her improvisational purposes. So how do they manage to express their improv so well when they solo? I’ve practiced all modes in major, harmonic minor, melodic minor, pentatonic major/minor, diminished, whole tone, chromatic, bebop, blues, etc and every time I listen to a real jazz musician they seem to nail everything and manage to make it sound musicially. My querstion is how?
Stuff like Ride of the Valkyries I like haha! But I would prefer some more relaxing things. I’ve got all the usual rock/hip hop/pop and whatever on my iPod but I want some relaxing classical pieces as well.
I saw it on a show on skyarts called “A Journey Through American Music: Travelling Blues”. Its by an english artist. Cant seem to find the documentary anywhere anymore and I would like to find the track because I thought it was fantastic.
I need to know the genres for classical music, please. Music from, like, the 1600’s or 1700’s. I know I don’t have them perfectly correct but I was just trying to make sure you know I don’t mean classical as in contemporary music. Thanks.
It can be any of:
Latino Jazz
Spanish Jazz
Trumpet Jazz
Saxophone jazz
Or any other interesting/nice/relaxing/happy/mood lifting jazz.
All comments are appreciated. Thank you.
