I am looking for a new mouth piece. I am a experienced player, and playing in a jazz band. I have heard that metal mouth pieces are more of a jazz genre. So would this be what I am looking for?
My high school jazz band is recording a cd and we are making an album cover. I was trying to think of some ideas to put on it, so if you have any suggestions let me know. 
It would be good if it also had a improvised scat in it, but this is not necessary.
I’m trying to get into other types of music, as long as it has a guitar. Can anyone recommend a group/band that has some nice sounding guitar (preferably lead guitar)?
I talked to the director, and he said I could be in jazz, just not the whole year. He said that in the competitions, they had limitations on the instrumentation. Which I don’t get or believe, since that pretty much defies the definition of jazz. The website for the MN State High School League says that “standard instrumentation is encouraged.” What does that mean?
I play bass in a jazz quartet of bass, vocals, drums, and piano. Would girls find a guy playing an upright bass hot?
I want to play bass, I have been playing guitar for a bout 2 years, but I have no experience with bass. I seem to pick up on instruments pretty fast. Will I be able to if I get lessons over the summer?
So my friends and I are writing a web show sitcom, and it’s scored entirely in jazz. our theme song is “Flight of the Foo Birds” (basie), and we need some other good upbeat “happy” tunes for the show. So if anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!
Everybody classifies Tyr as a folk metal band but they don’t use any folk instruments. Aren’t they just viking metal?
I always like finding great bands that have not been put through the radio meat grinder. i.e. Dave Matthews Band early stuff is way better than the current. Anybody like Great Big Sea, Arlo Guthrie, James Taylor, Eli “Paperboy” Read is awesome. Lately I have been listening to The Orchid Highway.
