What is the difference between the Concerto during the Baroque and Classical era. Remember the form in the 1st movements differ and also the inclusion of ’something’ before the final orchestral return.

Classical Concentro: Double Expo T1 T2 (orch) transition T1 T2 (solo) CT but my teacher said im missing something
Wikipedia features changes in orchestration from the Classical period on but I think the most important developments happened during the Baroque and Classical period with the additions and removals of instruments. I remember the earliest orchestra had the violin, the viola, the cello, the harpsichord, the organ, the lute, the theorbo, the chitarrone and some other Baroque instruments but how did the orchestra develop from there till the somewhat standard one we know nowadays? I would appreciate any input. Thanks!
I’ve been getting into classical music (used generically, not as period reference) lately and I’ve been told that it is sometimes best to start with the piano sonatas and move up to the string quarters, concertos, symphonies.
So, if you would, who do you think are the best keyboardists from the above period and their best works?
