I am a trained musician who is interested in picking up the bass guitar. I am interested in playing blues and jazz. What is a good beginning bass to learn on and to play in those styles? I am a trained musician (I hold a bachelors degree in music performance) on trumpet, but have always been interested in learning to play bass. I’m not looking to break the bank, but would like something that eventually would be appropriate for basic jams sessions. Any suggestions?
Well, my Fender Jazz Bass is all white, body AND pickguard. I think it would look amazing if i had a black pickguard with white body.
However, the only music store around here screwed up my last bass’ pickguard, so i don’t exactly want to go there again.
So basically, i just wanted to know if there’s anything i need to know before replacing the pickguard. ALSO, i need to know if there wires attached to the original pickguard.
Thanks Guys!!
I’ve come up with some of my own songs for acoustic guitar, and I don’t know how to add music for a bass player. I want to jam some of my own songs with people, but how can I write stuff to include bass players?
For example, say I write an easy I IV V blues progression in G major. What tips should I take into account for the bass players out there?
i’ve been trying out my spl-1200r, and i found not much difference in the “movie” and the “jazz” presets. but i have been reading online and some guys would love the “jazz” preset because of it’s tight, clean, low distortion bass. does anybody uses only the “jazz” preset for movie and why? how do i maximize my spl sub with the “jazz” preset?
