Persoanlly I am not much of a clarinet player with jazz, more classical. I have been playing for 4 years and I am currently playing on 3 reeds (vandoren). I was just wondering on reed strengths for jazz clarinet. I hear 1 and 1and a half are traditional like with benny goodman and if so would Vandoren 1s be ok or another brand and what kind of mouthpiece?

I know Eric Dolphy played Bass Clarinet, and I’ve seen some other modern players playing Bass Clari, but are there any current jazz players playing soprano clarinet? I’m interested in fusion and kind of “out there” free jazz, but I’d love to hear some new, or odd clarinet players.
If so, about what percentage of programs offer this? Just a rough guess.
There’s a slow tempo jazz standard, featuring the clarinet, that was used as a jingle for Country Time Lemonade. I’ve heard it in a variety of places over the years, but have never identified it by it’s title.
I want to try playing some blues. So far I have been playing classical and a few light jazz standards only. What is a good source for clarinet jazz tunes?
