on a very havy metal door, that is opened by pushing on the door, ( no door knobs are made on door, door is without holes and is opened by palm pushing door itself ) what type of paint is best to repaint door ? and how long should complete drying time take ?

Our metal doors were painted an offwhite. Now we have painted taupe and cream shades and some celery. Should the doors still be offwhite or what? They are in need of paint as they look yucky, especially the garage door.
