I want to hang curtains at double french doors. I have drilled a little hole with a masonary bit but it won’t go in the wall very far. Sounds like i’m hitting metal so i suspect there is a lintle over the doors. If i drill through the lintle with metal drill bits will it weaken the lintle. It is only one little hole, at the other side i seem to be able to manage with a masonary bit.

I want to hang shutters inside the window but I cant drill though the metal that is behind the drywall.
