Mine would probably be “The Thrill Is Gone” by B.B. King. He’s such a great musician. I love blues, and I love those slow blues songs. What’s your favorite one?
All of the Jazz stations are gone. There aren’t many live bands playing around. It seems like smooth jazz is dying in NY, NJ, and Philly. Why is this so?
I have a version of ‘Gin and Juice’ that sounds more like Blues Travelers and Dave Matthews than the band Phish. I have heard the Gourds did this song, as well. Does anyone know the answer, because I have searched the net already on this? Thanks for your help.
Valveless orchestral horns from the late 18th and early 19th century were generally able to equip all crooks from C alto down to B flat basso, but there are a few examples of higher and lower horn crooks (Mozart’s 19th symphony called for high Eb horns, and supposedly there are a few A basso horn parts in existence.) Is there any evidence as to what the absolute highest and lowest natural horn crooks EVER called for in classical music are?
I remember watching a movie when I was a kid about jazz and blues, the characters were city people in a normal work-day. I recall one scene where some laborers were building a skyscraper and their movements went together with the rhythm. The movie was really fun and the music unbelievable. I want to find it and see it again!
