I’m just starting to get into jazz, but its a little overwhelming and I’m wondering where a good place to start is. I really like Peggy Lee and Ella Fitzgerald at the moment. I would like album names because I’d like a lot of music, but the best songs would be good too.
For the end of the year dance show at my school a group of juniors from the dance team and I are wanting to perform. I need an upbeat song, possibly a show tune if its not to talkative. Last year we did “The Way You Make Me Feel” By Michael Jackson. So we’re looking for something just as appealing to the audience.
How do i improvise use the scale itself – I am currently learning the blues scales major and minor but modes are confusing me I know the names to them and that they are scales within scales but how would i really use them over chord progression …. like what chords are used in blues music ?
