Heya, I’ve never really played jazz guitar before and am wondering what is everything I need to know to become a good jazz guitarist. I’m aware there is always something more to learn in jazz but what are the essentials for being a jazz muscian e.g. chords and scales etc

if you want to be completely baffled about what you can do with a guitar you have to pick up the complete works of robert johnson that man really knew his way around a guitar
if you are looking into some traditional work Son house and leadbelly are always good
John lee hooker is a must for improvisation
bb king is a must for his sound
elmore james is the king of using a slide
stevie ray vaughn is good to learn how fast you can get with a guitar
etc etc etc
I play metal guitar, and I have weak calluses, what are some good finger exercises to build up calluses and finger strength?
I know I have the chops, feel, tone, and drive to make it big, the problem is good music isn’t popular and probably won’t be for awhile
I already am familiar with blues rock bands, nad Robert Johnson.

I’m an intermediate blues guitarist and most my influence are from classic bands such as led zeppelin and eric clapton and im starting to get into jazz but i dont know what artist are good.
my friend and i want to start a band.we have a drummer but no vocals.none of us can sing and we have two guitarists who play almost opposite styles of music, heavy metal and jazz. the drummer doesnt like either style. what the heck do we do and how do we form a band with this. any good band names????

In Bam Margeras movie ‘Where the **** is Santa’ what is the name of the classical guitarist that tells Bam to hike through the snow to get ot the place where santa is. He has crazy hair and wheres eyeliner. Plays clasical acousitc but might play other stuff?
I currently play the blues on the guitar. It seems to me that there are alot of similarities between the blues and jazz. In fact, I often hear them mixed together. What I want to know is what chords, scales, and techniques should I use to play jazz on the guitar?
