im doing a viva voce and need more info about the key and scales of this solo im doing, i know its in a g blues scale but what mode does that come under?
Have you any examples of classical/medieval music that specifically use the medieval Doric (or Dorian) musical mode. Wikipedia quote only Beethoven in his Missa Solemnis during the credo, does anyone know any others, the more the better! There are plenty of modern examples, but I am specifically searching for classical and even better medieval examples. Thank you for your help
I’m the pianist in my high school jazz band, and I’m working on my jazz piano improv (during repeat sections where people take solos in songs). However, I don’t know what musical mode to solo in (ie: major, minor, mixolydian, blues, etc). How do I know which one to pick and which one do you recommend? I’m open to any other suggestions about soloing. Thanks!
