I have a classical guitar that was given to me by someone and it had 3 nylon and 3 steel strings on it. I’m looking to replace it with all steel strings. Is it okay to do that? Will it cause any neck warp?

I really want to learn how to play the guitar but cant go to guitar lessons. Im planning to take music in grade 10 and choose the guitar intsrument. Do u have to know the instrument to take music class? what things do i need to know to get through the class?
