Just got home after 7 weeks travelling around Northern India. I was pleased to get home at first but now after a few days I am bummed. Its ages till I go back to uni and I’m not back at work for another week or so.

In general, what modes do I use to solo over what chords in Jazz? Basically, what are some basic chords for each different mode that sound good when soloed over using that mode? And how do I tell what chords sound good with what mode? I am a guitarist.

It’s well documented that slaves contributed their African music to the blues, and that the blues is incredibly important in our current music scene. (it stemmed rock and Elvis…)
Is there any argument against this? Was there another possible origin of the blues? Something that says that blues was NOT created or influenced by Africans?
