My brothers friends left my guitar hero guitar leaning against our gas fireplace and luckily I caught it before it got really bad, but it melted enough that its becoming troublesome. Before the glass is small metal bars that are maybe a cenimeter thick. I got some of the plastic off. But there is still some on the glass but its hard to reach. I would really like to be able to fix this before my father gets home on Christmas day from work.

I have this metal ring, about a foot in diameter, probably half an inch thick with 5 smaller, plastic rings with metal on the inside that are around the outer ring. To work the toy, you slap the plastic rings to make them spin and then continuously spin the large metal ring to keep the smaller one’s rotating. My friend gave it to me so I have no idea what it’s called.
I have a leak on the inlet to my toilet cistern. I have bought a replacement metal coupling which I connected ok to the mains plastic pipe, but when I connect to the plastic threaded pipe attached to the inlet valve it leaks. What should I usse to prevent the leakage?
