I talked to the director, and he said I could be in jazz, just not the whole year. He said that in the competitions, they had limitations on the instrumentation. Which I don’t get or believe, since that pretty much defies the definition of jazz. The website for the MN State High School League says that “standard instrumentation is encouraged.” What does that mean?
I’m in the midst of my first semester at Cal State Fullerton as a jazz studies major with emphasis on guitar, but am considering SDSU because it’s cheaper for me living wise and just have a better network of people available. How does SDSU’s program rank in the jazz/non-classical side? I’m considering the electro-acoustic major (BM) for modern composition, recording, etc. I think I want to transfer but I don’t want to make a mistake. Any thoughts?
I have a 100 watt fender frontman and do not want to get rid of it because i do a lot of digital delays and effects which will sound bad with a tube amp. I was just wondering what pedals I can get to give me that john mayer/buddy guy rich blues tone. I have a mexican strat with Custom Shop Texas Pickups
