The paint is flaking and peeling off the metal pipe. The pipe is rusty. It is the source for heat so convering it up is not a solution. This will be the first time I am trying to DIY. So please be specific and detailed on how it should be done right. Thanks.
In this neighborhood we always get mold, green buildup, on the North side of the houses. I saw on an episode of This Old House they placed a metal strip on a roof to prevent moss buildup. Would this work on vinyl siding?
The previous owner has a metal strip on our counter back splash that is glued to the tile. We want to keep the nice tile on the wall, but don’t know how to soften the glue behind the metal strip so that it can be removed safely without damaging the tile. Thank you for your professional answer.
I need to get a new one, my carpet is pulling out from underneath that metal strip and I need to replace it with a wider one to cover more of the carpet. Also, where would I buy one? Would I take measurements and have one custom-made / cut to size?
When is it ever necessary to use a metal strip or plate on a concrete house slab which in turn supports the outside brickwork? We have a metal strip jutting out at an approximately 15 degree angle. We were told by the builder that we should have it covered up for cosmetic reasons but we think the builder is trying to hide faulty construction as we and an independent builder can’t see or understand the reason for the presence of this metal on top of the slab. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we fear that this section of the house is not secure. It may be important to note that we have found window frames and door frames, walls etc out of square and are wondering if this could be a result of the slab being defective and perhaps too short in part. Help, please. We fear we have been conned.
