Hi guys,
I am a beginner guitarist. I just emailed the leader of a band asking him to tell me which key they play a certain song in. He emailed me back saying that they play the song with a guitar tuned to an open Dbm chord. I do not understand how to tune my guitar to an open Dbm chord. Can someone explain to me how to do it and why sometimes a guitarist would tune their guitar to a diffent chord?
I’ve been playing for 3 years now and have gotten the hang of guitar down. However I have ignored many songs tuned in drop D and I’m tired of this. I know it is simple. Don’t you just tune the last string one step lower?
Thanks in advance
(Is it Miles Davis?) The one that is given to Jerry by the babysitter in a CD (or cassette, I don’t remember)and which he plays just before going to bed with the girl, when he asks: “WHAT is that music…..?”
It doesn’t appear that the song made it to the movie soundtrack CD.
I’ve got the chords and the melody figured out on the piano and can play it in 2 diferent keys now. But I can’t seem to make any of the improvisatory solos sound good. (If I just start on the 3rd, 5th or root of each chord that’s a place to start or end but where do I go from there?)
