Right now, I really like Dizzy Gillespie’s “Swing Low, Sweet Cadillac”. Can anybody recommend some similar albums? I also like the modernness of Miles’ “Bitches Brew” but the songs are very long and hard for me to follow and keep interested.
It would be good if it also had a improvised scat in it, but this is not necessary.
My music department at school is hosting an even called “Night on the Town” and my director told me that he thinks I should sing a solo. I was very flattered. 
But I have to audition by the end of the month and I’ve no idea what to sing. Any ideas? I have broad range, I’m most comfortable in the low-ish soprano area but I can go very high and very low.

I’ve got this killer riff for guitar and I want to put words to it. I basically just need a topic. I mean it’s pretty upbeat, so the usual “My baby got on a train and left for Memphis, oh, Lawd he’p me,” probably won’t work. I guess it could be about love though, but I’d like it to be more unique, such as Catch Hell Blues by the White Stripes.
Me and my friend want to do a jazz dance at our church talent show. We need an appropriate, upbeat song to dance do, preferably not more than 3 minutes long. Any ideas?
