Other than the obvious chronological difference-before 1941/after 1945, there are some differences in style, instrumentation, etc. The post war music of America (including pop, r & b, blues, country, etc.) reflected the new found optimism of most Americans. The years of conflict, rationing, death and economic hardship were behind them.
