I think titanium cannot be used for interplanetary traveling, because each planet has its own thermal atmosphere that there are a great chance that the earth’s single element might not withstand. For example, like space shuttles, the machine is composed a barrier called “Thermal Protection System” that protects the space shuttles from its searing of the 3000 degrees Fahrenheit and up reentry back to Earth. Imagine other planets; in fact, not just only metals be use, but non-metals and metalloids can also be use to ——– Carbon, Silicon, Tungsten.
Probably a combination of materials, maybe in a composite ’sandwich’ or ‘honeycomb’ type of structure.
Or a single large piece of ‘unobtaniun’ ☺

It would have to handle a lot of expansion and contraction. It would also have to shield against radiation and meteorites.
Probably Death Metal, maybe even Doom Metal.
