   I guess you’re talking about airliners during the 40s and 50s. There were lots of planes even in WWII, the truth is, I don’t know which was first. A lot of times, they converted military bomber planes into airliner planes. They really developed after WWII, there were a lot more airliners than before. Some examples are

   What Jazz age? Contemporary, New Orleans, Fusion, Modern, way too many to pin any kind of date down.
