It seems that women these days are so shallow, that they even hate men who listen to a different genre of music?
Why are most women these days so close-minded?
To be honest, I can see why some men ‘turn’ gay.

  1. Boy Wonder says:

I’ll add that I have many gay friends.
Out of all of them, there is only 1 that enjoys classical music. Besides myself, of course.
I find the question to be very ironic, given the fact that 99% of composers are MALE and probably 95% of conductors are MALE.
I’d be willing to wager that there are some rappers who are gay and in the closet. They could be using their “music” to cover it up, to portray themselves as someone “manly”.
The whole concept is just stupid and ignorant. Enough so that I am sitting here laughing about it as I type.
    Boy Wonder
    P.S. – nevermind.
EDIT: Also, a large majority of my gay friends are politcally conservative, also. But then again, that’s probably because I don’t seek out liberals for friends.

  2. Katamari says:

I’m not quite sure. I don’t mind whatever kind of music guys listen to, but I think that many other girls think that guys are only straight if they listen to rock/punk music or rap music. I agree that it is very close-minded, but I think that many girls are very shallow and judgmental of people.

  3. its .the. charm says:

    no way
    i totally dont think that
but i think that its because
girls are so used to guys being tough
    and listening to crappy rap
that when they find a guy who listens to classic they find it
    weird
therefore weird equals gay in some girls minds
i think its cute when a guy listens to classic
they go against what the crowd is doing
which shows a lot about their personality
    anyway
    i totally love classic
    its so relaxing

  4. SoulFox says:

It’s not just women, it’s people. Everybody these days is so friggin judgemental, they don’t seem to understand that stereotypes don’t always apply.
People around me will think somebody is ‘gay’ if they act in a fashion even remotely different from their idea of a typical guy – the way the talk, act, their preferences etc. In reality, the only thing that makes you gay is being sexually attracted to guys – and no other personality traits will necessarily come along with that.

  5. del_icio says:

I don’t know what shallow, simple-minded females you mix with, but I’d steer well clear of them if I were you – they obviously just follow the crowd like sheep and don’t have two brain cells to rub together. Women of any worth find depth, sensitivity and intelligence very attractive in a guy. You are talking about worthless bimbos who don’t warrant your consideration.
And one doesn’t (can’t) ‘turn’ gay. It’s not some kind of hobby, you know – it’s decided by hormones and genes in the womb.
Now, go along and play – and try to find some decent people (preferably with brains) to mix with.

  6. Chrissy T says:

THOSE women are lame. THATS WHY. lol.
My husband and I get along super. He listens to classical music and rap. I don’t care for them, I listen to metal and classic rock. lol. We compromise.
Maybe you just run into the lame ones who only care about themselves. Also, maybe they just want to be with someone who has the same interests. Girls get annoyed easily [hormones, lol]. Think about being in a car with someone and listening to music you don’t care for over and over and over. Maybe the girls you meet cant handle that?

  7. . says:

I’ve never heard of that, ever. I’m a woman and would never have even considered that :/ You must know some very shallow women

  8. Cecilia says:

Oh, they don’t… but some men who listen to classical music are gay, maybe they just generalize.
My husband loves classical music… he certainly isn’t gay!

  9. Jackson says:

i don’t know, its troublesome. just find the right women…

  10. spiderma says:

Perhaps this is a useful way of sorting out people into the trivial and the thoughtful.

  11. iansamad says:

Why haven’t I noticed this before? Good impressionist music is the most conducive to heterosexual sex, better even than Chef’s crooning.
In my entire life no one has made this assumption.
Maybe it’s because I like Bruckner and not Chopin. Just kidding.
My guess is that you are not really talking about “women”, girls may seem attractive, but they are not ripe and always lead to stomach upset.
Women, tend to think of classical guys as sensitive and upscale.
Women think a guy is gay if he likes show-tunes, has track lighting, and uses “product”.
The way women treat gay celebrities would make one think that being thought of as gay would be an asset in meeting women.
Sorry to disagree, but it just ain’t so.

  12. Rachel _Not_Idiot says:

Well, personally, I think that men are gay if they are sexually attracted to men rather than women, but my opinions have always been weird like that.
Also, I dislike generalisations. Not all women are shallow: perhaps you should seek better company?
(It’s a human thing to be suspicious of those who are different to oneself; it’s not limited to any sex, race, age, whatever. Underneath all the culture and rhetoric, humans are basically still tribalistic, territorial apes.)

  13. Doctor John says:

Gay means happy. I am more than happy to listen to proper music.

  14. Hammerhe says:

Because it isn’t a masculine thing, it’s an elegant style of music

  15. Libby says:

If I met a guy who loved classical music, I would fall in love with him. I wouldn’t think he is gay.
Personally, I say it’s the media…it seems it’s always sending the message that if you’re a guy who likes intelligent things and sensitivity, you were ‘born gay’ and need to ‘accept yourself’…ugh. But then when I say that I feel like some raving hippie shouting, “Blame the media, man!” XD

  16. i. jones says:

    1. It’s not true.
    2. You don’t want to be paired up with a woman who doesn’t like your taste in music. It won’t work out in the long run.
    3. Everybody is a product or their society, the people they hang around with. Hang with quality people, and you’re life will be better.
… I love iansamadhi’s line “My guess is that you are not really talking about “women”, girls may seem attractive, but they are not ripe and always lead to stomach upset.” Truer words have not been spoken.

  17. Peanut says:

I don’t know. I only brand guys gay if they listen to the Jonas Brothers.

  18. Nick Name says:

The girls that do that have no class.

  19. *Kirby* says:

No I think it’s totally hot cuz I do too

  20. MissLimL says:

You may know some shallow women who say that they think men who listen to classical music are gay, but secretly they think that these men are not gay but intellectual. There is something among society that says that intellectuals are not normal, and are something to be feared, and there is another thing in society that says homosexuality is not normal… so both things are not “normal” so therefore someone who likes classical music is gay.
I asked a friend of mine (who is a guy and abhors classical music – and me for liking it!) and that was his logic as to why someone would think that a guy who likes classical music is gay.
I will admit though that one of the few guys I know that do like classical music is gay… in every sense of the word! He is one of my best friends though and I don’t think his liking classical music has anything to do with his sexuality.

  21. Ryan K says:

Then you must have terrible luck with women my friend. I’ve seen homophobic stereotypes associated to musical theater and dance (usually incorrectly, although there’s always one…), but never with classical music. The only stereotypes I see associated to classical music fans is that of being old and snobby, despite the fact that thousands of young students are studying classical music even as I type this.

  22. duhmight says:

They don’t have enough brains to work out the beauty of Classical music. Not all women however,I met some whom are really amazing in Classical music and love it.
